Which software submission software?

After many years of submitting my software by hand to shareware sites, well I haven't done it for well over a year now. I just update my pad file.

Whats the best software in your opinion, whats your experiences?

Heres what I've found to be contenders :-

Submit It 2000 - http://www.gregorybraun.com/SubmitIt.html
SoftSubmit - http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/program/ssubmit.htm
SharewareTracker - http://www.accusolve.biz/strack.html
Software-Promoter - http://www.softilium.com/sp/index.htm
RoboSoft - http://robosoft.rudenko.com/

Or are there any I've missed which you rate?

  1. I'm using Promosoft for my software submission. http://www.develab.net/
I'm convinced of that tool and don't want to use another ;)

  2. Wow thats £162 for everything.

I notice that RobSoft is £50, then you can pay $8 / month for db updates at any point.

How often do you re-submit your pad file ?

I just update my pad file at the moment.

    Is Promosoft that good ?

EDIT: Reading various comments / reviews it sounds like PromoSoft is full automated, whereas RoboSoft gives you more control over specific sites. Personally, I want speed and my time is valuable, but its the cost which is a problem for me with PromoSoft. At this point I haven't used either trials, so maybe I'm speaking out of term.

  3. When I say WOW I mean, "thats expensive".

I think G, that when you told me about it years ago I felt the same.

Heres a URL with lots of screen shots for promosoft.

  4. I've only tried RoboSoft. It seems good but I haven't got anything else to compare it with.

I chose not too submit to sites requiring a log-in - to save time. I ended up submitting successfully to about 300 sites. I found this a little disappointing as I'm sure there are many more easy-to-submit-to archives.

Do you guys have any idea how many simple submission sites there are?

  5. Promosoft knows about 800 websites. It's not really cheap, but I think it's worth to buy. For a first view you can download a trial of the software to submit your PAD file to a few archives.

If you open the software the first time, the UI is a little bit old style and cumbersome. But you can handle it.

It stores every password and user login for every page and every time you open Promosoft, you get an update of all shareware archives. That's the good thing about.

Think you have to try it first, before you decide what to buy.

  6. SoftTester is also available ;)

  7. I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet with PromoSoft and buy it.

If I'd bought when gerhard first told me about years ago, who know how much time it would have saved me by now and I'd probably have a lot more sales and perhaps exposure on google.

As its also available in German it will be good toward German sites where the perfered pad creation tool isn't padgen and has a few extra fields.

    >Do you guys have any idea how many simple submission sites there are?

I'm not really up-to-date on pad sites. However I have an awful lot of login details. However when i look through my Ideaspd records I kept on pad submission, I I must only be submitted to about 100 or so at the most.

    >SoftTester is also available

When I first setup the site I contacted a load of submission service providers / programs, so I image any new services since will no doubt have looked at older sites to get their services more populated.

  8. Drum roll looks like I'm going to have to buy it, will have to check my bacnk account first though I guess.

I have my http://www.msaccessdatabasesecurity.com/ site, MDBSecure 2009 program version and my white paper all done (although the white paper will need some improvements).

This is the next step :(
I thought I'd let it create my pad file for me too.

    Any final thoughts?

  9. Hmmm scrath that.

I did some sums and figured that I'd have to use Promosoft for 3 years to make the permanent license worthwhile.

Also don't have as much in the bank as I'd thought, so think I might just go for the £49 for 12 months option. I think.

  10. I just wanted to let you guys know my current progress. I got my wife, to test my program, shes a software tester as a day job. Not had her look at my program since shes been a tester.

Anyway she had a lot of comments to make, so I'm holding off buying promosoft until its ready. Shame really I wanted to get rolling straight away, hopefully it won't take me too long.
