Today I started a Google Adwords campaign for TimePunch. I'm really interessted to see on how much this changes the amount of visitors and hopefully my sellings ;)
For the first time I spend 100EUR with a limit of 5EUR a day and three keywords "Zeiterfassung", "Arbeitszeit" and "Projektzeit".
I'll keep you up to date ...

My friend with the http://www.transfer-vinyl-to-mp3-or-cd.com/ site tried adwords recently and got some sales but it cost him far more in adwords than he made in sales.
ReplyDeleteSo I'd be cautious and try different variations of keywords.
My own experience has been very poor.
Yes, it seems relativ expensive. After that month I'm going to post my experience with it ...
ReplyDeleteI tried Adwords and I just about broke even. I found that I had to optimise the ads to try and get more click thrus. The trouble was the clicks didn't convert to sales. Some clicks cost £1!
ReplyDeleteIn the end I decided to stop using Adwords and concentrate on free optimisation since this would work in the long run for no extra cost, i.e. I'd put in the effort to get the optimisation done but I wouldn't have to keep on paying forever.
Some people have great success with Adwords but for me it seemed too much like a form of gambling. I found that as the weeks went on I had to bid more and more to get the same number of clicks.
It'll be interesting to see how you get on.
Jules and I swap SEO hints and try to help each other with getting visitors to our sites. If you think I can help in some way just ask. I'm more than willing to offer advice but, of course, there are no guarantees.
Heres something which might be helpful.

Gerhard,
ReplyDeleteWhats your progress with adwords?
I happened to be doing a bit of work-related research in Yahoo today and came across your blog. I have to admit that I have gotten a lttle bit sidetracked going through and looking at a few of your posts... I should probably be working. Carry on the great writing and i'm already looking towards reading future posts. Enjoy the week!
